The goud or gourde is currency of Haiti with code HTG, subdivided into 100 centimes. The Haitian-gourdes was first introduced in 1813 to replace the livre at rate of 1 gourde = 8 livres and 5 sous. The Central Bank of Haiti Banque nationale de la République d’Haïti is issuing authority of banknotes. Frequently used banknotes of 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000 gourdes and rarely used 1, 2, 5, 20 gourdes and coins of 5, 10, 20, 50 centimes, 1, 5 gourdes are currently in circulation in Haiti economy.
