The Cedis is currency of Ghana with code GHC. It is the 4th historical and solitary permissible tender in Republic of Ghana. Ghana Cedis is further divided into 100 pesewas. Banknotes of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and coins of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50GP, GHC 1 and GHC 2 are circulating in Republic of Ghana.
According to an article published in Bloomberg on February 3, 2020, Ghana Cedis is accepted as world best performing currency against dollar, this year. Ghana is 2nd largest producer of cocoa that has strengthen its economy to 3.9% in 2020. The tight policy of Central Bank and issuance of Eurobond, it is expected that Ghana Cedis will strengthen further in coming years.
